"Can I have another Mai Tai, when you get a chance? Thanks so much," Aubrey muttered into her hand, just loud enough for the bartender to hear. She twirled a lock of her platinum blonde hair around her finger, engrossed in her thoughts. As of late, the upcoming MCAT test she had to take seemed to be the only thing she could focus on. The gorgeous weather usually was all Aubrey was thinking about this time of year, but today she didn't even seem to notice it.
She spent her day laying on the quad on a blanket, surrounded by textbooks and old notes she had taken from the previous years. She was more than prepared for psychology and biology, as they came rather easily to her, but organic chemistry haunted her throughout her sophomore year. And of course it's two parts chemistry. Wonderful. Just great. Medicine was all she had ever thought about, even though she didn't have a choice if it was what she actually wanted to pursue in life. There had never been an alternate career that she had even remotely thought about.
Sipping her newly arrived drink, Aubrey continued thinking. Actually, whatever happens, happens. Screw it. At least for tonight. Grades had always been her priority. Tonight, she wasn't going to let her mind preoccupy her, although the three previous drinks she had ordered might have played a part in that. She could feel herself loosening up, and she started to sway back and forth to the music surrounding her. Looking around, she did not recognize anyone that she thought looked worth talking to. Maybe if I get drunk enough, tonight will be great even if I spend it with myself. "Hey. Can you just give me whatever bottle is nearest you?" Even though it was a weekday and she had classes in the morning, she was determined to have a little bit of fun. Nobody looks back and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep...hearing her best friend from high school resonating in her head.

After a long day of moving into his newest dorm room, Matt was feeling exhausted and bored. He found absolutely no point in staying in his room for the night and kicking back until classes came, so he walked his way over to the bar in hopes of finding some entertainment. Mateo downed several Coronas before he was nearing the point where he was ready to go and sleep for the next couple of weeks. It was early yet so he forced himself to stay and attempt to socialize with some of the other student body or really anyone looking to drink.
Matt's eyes wandered the bar, searching for anyone who could possibly entertain him for the night. There was a air of boring floating around the couple of people he was near and the bartender even kept giving him looks to help strike up conversation. All Mateo was able to do was ask about the most recent game or if there was anyone around with a good story to be told. Unfortunately, his bartender happened to be fairly new and had little experience with the bar flies.
Mateo gave his full attention to a girl, more like certain body parts of the girl, he saw on pretty much the other end of the bar. A small smile crept onto his face as he saw her with an easily distinguishable Mai Tai. She was tall for a girl, had long blonde hair, and had quite the body to go along with her hair. Matt leaned over the bar, asking the bartender if he knew the girl's name. The bartender just shook his head and shrugged, bumming Matt out only slightly.
He stood up, Corona with lime in hand, and walked over to his current eye candy. Drinking the night away? Matt asked, noticing that the blonde had a bottle of alcohol at this point. He grinned at her, knowing he laid his accent on a little thicker than usually. More often than not, it pulled girls right into his grasp from the start. Best thing about Great Britain by far, American girls loved the accent.
