Personality;;
Avery's one true love is, undeniably, himself. Whatever word one wants to use to describe him -- whether it be vain, self-absorbed, egotistical, arrogant, or the large variety of other words that mean the same thing -- he's undeniably narcissistic. While not everything has to be about him, he certainly prefers and enjoys it, even if he at least has the decency to not make everything about him on purpose. Just... extremely unintentionally at an alarming frequency. He's also not exactly the type to flaunt himself about, as he views such things as a level of conceited even he won't ever reach, however he does expect there to be a certain level of people recognizing him for his naturally better everything.
He tends to react badly when he'd told he's wrong, mostly because his own level of self-importance and confidence in his intelligent (and he is actually smart; he got into college of his own merit, not because his parents were willing to throw large amounts of money at the school (even though they were)). While he doesn't view that things such as harassment are appropriate, and he doesn't go out out of his way to make someone's life horrible, he does make it a goal to make them somewhat miserable on a somewhat regular basis. Whatever is easiest for him and more annoying to the other person.
He's used to being a center of attention, and not just because of his narcissism. As an individual from a rather well-off family, he's used to being paid attention to in general by, well, everyone. After all, he does have money, and money means people are more willing to try to get you to like them. He's never been without friends and hasn't ever been in the unpopular crowd. He's used to interacting with people and is used to his opinion and views to matter, which has resulted in several things. One, he's extremely comfortable in most social situations and rarely is at a lack of something to say (in fact, it could be easily said it's hard to get him to shut up). It's not always about him (though more often than not it is), but he can keep and hold conversations rather well, and has just enough of a casual, almost flirtatious charm that makes a lot of people feel more at ease around him. Two, he's used to his words having some weird in whatever crowd he's in. He's used to his opinion mattering, mostly because people care enough about his money to care about how they treat him. He's used to people listening to him and has this slight level of authority when he speaks, mostly because it's how he's always been treated. Third, he tends to forget his words have consequences. He's blunt, more than likely offensively so, especially when it comes to references of his own family's wealth.
Such a level of ease around other people, however, got him into theater. He enjoys acting, and it comes pretty naturally to him, and it suits some of his more sociable habits. It's one of the only non-mandatory school things he's ever done or wanted to do, so it's kind of a big deal.
Appearance;;
Avery stands at roughly six foot (he's slightly under, however he rounds up) and is on the leaner side. He doesn't have too much muscle mass, mostly because he doesn't feel like going through the exercise thing to build up muscle mass, and what few muscles he has are leaner and not that pronounced. He often has some type of a light tan, mostly because he does spend time outdoors even if it isn't exactly used for his health and fitness level, and he often wears some facial hair; at the moment he's been fond of a small goatee, though he admits that he thinks he might get rid of it. His hair in general is dark and he often wears it long enough to be messy, most of the messiness coming from the fact that he doesn't usually put time in to comb it. He has a 1/4 inch gauge in his right ear; he's not interested in enlarging it at the moment, and he usually wears some type of taper in it.
Past;;
Avery’s always lived a pretty good life. He was born to two rather well-off business owners, and throughout his childhood he was treated to the best. He was never really left wanting for anything he wanted unless his parents thought it was a horrible idea, and all was well for him. He began school like most kids – his parents put him through public school, because they thought it would do him better than a private school – and he somewhat enjoyed it. Or, at least, he enjoyed it when the proper praise was being given to him. During his first few years – he can never exactly remember which one – his little sister was born, but he will admit that they never got extremely close, even in their later years. When he got into the middle school years, that was when his money began to impact exactly who his friends were and what crowds he got into. While he realized most of the kids cared about him being rich and not really him, he couldn’t deny that he enjoyed the attention he got from it, and so he made no attempt to dissuade it. He learned how to talk to nearly anyone who came up to him, he learned how to be charming enough to get people away from expecting money and onto a somewhat regular conversation topic, he discovered what power that the want of money had over people. He also realized money had a power over him, too, but he never minded nor cared; after all, it was making him feel better.
High school proceeded in much the same way. He was introduced into theater via one of his few actual friends, and he loved it. It was one of the best things, he says, that happened to him in school ever; he involved himself to the point where several others in the program joked that he never actually went home and slept on the stage. He graduated with honors – Summa Cum Laude and a few awards for his theater accomplishments – and later he’d say he almost wished high school was five years long so he could have done more. In any sense, he did spend that summer going back to the school and helping the program with their performance plans for the next year, so it could be said it took him awhile to stop being involved.
He thought about going to college immediately following high school, however he decided he wanted to take a few years off. During that time, he traveled around and saw new places, and he mostly spent most of his time visiting small theater programs and seeing their shows. Part of him, he thought was looking for a place where he could live and do what he enjoyed, but there was a greater part that wanted to do something a little bit bigger. He finally decided to stop traveling and went back home, where he began applying for different colleges and going on several campus visits; he received several acceptance letters, and he decided on Seaview University. It took him awhile to get used to school once again, but he did it relatively easily, and he is rather impressed by the school’s theater program. He’s currently in his third year.
